1. Product overview
SamaPrime Cards is a planned virtual card product that will let you spend your wallet balance anywhere Visa or Mastercard is accepted online, without needing a traditional bank account. This page describes the product before launch so prospective users know what to expect — it is not yet an active service.
2. Provisional terms
These terms are provisional and will be superseded by the final terms published at launch. Our card-issuing partner has been selected and the fees below are the ones it actually charges, measured directly rather than estimated; other details may still change before launch. Nothing on this page should be treated as a binding agreement until Cards is live and you have accepted the final terms.
3. Fees
Issuing a card costs a flat $6.00 plus 4% of the amount you load, charged by our card partner, plus a $3.00 SamaPrime fee. On the $10 minimum load that is $19.40 for a $10 card — a 94% fee. The flat $6.00 does not shrink, so the smaller the card the larger the fee as a share of it: the same fee is 22% on a $50 card and 8% on a $250 card. Every amount shows its own total and its own percentage before you confirm, and the amount that lands on the card is exactly the amount you chose to load. The minimum is $10 because that is the smallest card our card partner will issue.
4. Closing a card and getting your money back
When you close a card, you receive its full remaining balance back into your SamaPrime wallet. Our card partner withholds up to $2.00 from the amount it returns to us on closure (less, if the card holds less); SamaPrime absorbs that charge rather than passing it on, so what you are credited is the balance shown on the card and not a cent less. There is no closure fee to you. Issuance fees already paid are not refundable, because they were spent creating the card.
5. Chargebacks and disputes
Once live, a disputed card transaction will follow the standard Visa/Mastercard chargeback process via our issuing partner. Users will be able to open a dispute from their card transaction history; provisional timelines and required evidence will be published at launch.
